Our team currently provides technical assistance and training to rural water and wastewater utilities through four (4) federally funded projects. Click the “Learn More” buttons below for additional project details.

Appalachian Community Technical Assistance and Training (ACTAT) Project
We provide technical assistance and training opportunities to water and wastewater systems that serve economically disadvantaged communities in Tennessee’s Appalachian counties.
Hydraulic Modeling for Small Water Systems
We help small water systems develop hydraulic models of their distribution system using free and open-source Geographic Information System (GIS) and network analysis software.

Wastewater TA on Asset Management and Financial Sufficiency Plan Development
We help small wastewater systems in Tennessee develop asset management and financial sufficiency plans, which are two critical barriers to accessing available infrastructure grants and loans.
WaterWORCs in Appalachia
We work with three water and wastewater utilities in East Tennessee to develop and implement a summer internship program to help address known workforce challenges in the water industry.
